The Home Gateway Initiative is an open forum launched by telcos in December 2004 with the aim to release specifications of the home gateway. HGI was formed to boost the market of home communication services to the millions of broadband customers served by its founding members. The initiative will drive the development of residential gateways supporting the delivery of services. |

The Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA for short) has been formed as a non-profit mutual benefit corporation to develop and promote specifications for the transport of digital entertainment and information content over in-home coaxial cable.
The goal of MoCA is to create specifications and certify products that will tap into the vast amounts of unused bandwidth available on the in-home coax without the need for new connections, wiring, point of entry devices, or truck rolls. |

The Wi-Fi Alliance is a global, non-profit industry association of more than 250 member companies devoted to promoting the growth of wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs). With the aim of enhancing the user experience for mobile wireless devices, the Wi-Fi Alliance's testing and certification programs ensure the interoperability of WLAN based on the IEEE 802.11 specification. |
